New York is a city with a lot to offer. To make sure you optimise your time in New York, try and stay in a central location. When we travelled to New York, we stayed in the Midtown area and found it to be a good location for reaching some key points on foot, (which helps save some money in this expensive city). This includes:
- Grand central station
- The Chrysler building
- The Empire State Building – click here for skip-the-line tickets! (Highly recommended)
- United Nations Headquarters
- Rockefeller Center
- Times Square and many more
When I visited New York, we took a ferry to Ellis Island to explore the immigration museum! If you are looking for ideas of what you can do while in New York, look at my 3-day New York itinerary!
You are spoiled for choice in this area. There are hotels for every budget! Here are the 5 best New York hotels in Midtown:
1. Pod 39 Hotel
When I visited New York, I stayed in the Pod 39 hotel. It was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in (with the exception of Hong Kong), but the location more than made up for it. We only slept there and was out from early in the morning till midnight most nights, so the small room was perfectly fine for our needs. The location was great, plenty of restaurants around the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pod 39 has a rooftop bar where you can spend your evenings admiring the view. The hotel is beautifully decorated – it is very modern but clean and fun! Pod 39 offers table tennis and pool for when you have a moment of downtime.
If you want a hotel with a wonderful location, book Pod 39 here!
