I spent one night in the Hotel Ibis Brussels off Grand Place during a trip to Europe.

Getting to the hotel was quite easy, it is around the corner from the Gare de Bruxelles-Central in Brussels. The Hotel ibis Brussels off Grand Place is located just behind the first stop of the hop-on-hop-off bus and close to many restaurants, pubs, etc.

We loved the area where the hotel was located. There is a small square/circle, called the Marché De l’Agora Bruxelles in front of the hotel where there are stalls during the day with artists selling their wares and as the name says plenty of places to eat. At times we saw a few live musicians also.

The Grand Place and Maison du Roi (Broodhuis – Museum of Brussels city) were just 5 minutes from the hotel. The hotel’s location was perfect and had the best vibe.

Checking-in

Several other people checked-in at the same time of us. The hotel seemed popular. The staff at reception was however so friendly and helpful; one quickly forgot how long you had to wait to check-in.

Our room at the Hotel Ibis Brussels off-Grand Place

Our room was on the 4th floor of the hotel. Lucky there were lifts and not only stairs. The room was small but clean and comfortable. There were a small desk and cupboard. The windows were small and could open for fresh air. The air conditioning worked well.

The bathroom had a bathtub with a shower inside. The hotel provided bottled soap in the bathroom at both the basin and in the shower.

Unfortunately, there was no kettle in the room, but luckily the hotel had a bar on the ground floor. Food and beers could be ordered from there and taken up to the room, which was convenient.

Breakfast

Our room rate did not include breakfast, but it was available at Euro 15. It was a buffet breakfast and include a variety of bread, juices, cheeses, sausages, eggs, etc. We thought the breakfast was pricey but had it anyway since we had limited time and we did not know what time we will eat again.

The Ibis Brussels Off-Grand Place Hotel offers luggage storage, but you pay for the use of the lockers based on the duration of use and the size of your luggage. I thought this was convenient (except for having to pay) as it was much safer than just leaving it in a rack or room somewhere with little control by hotel staff.

Wifi was free and fast. A computer with internet access was situated in the hotel’s foyer.

The hotel staff provided suggestions for restaurants and attractions to visit. We found them very professional and helpful.

Overall, we loved the Ibis Brussels Off-Grand Place hotel – it was modern and trendy and the location was perfect! The price was really good. The Brussels red sightseeing bus stops around the corner from the hotel, which is so convenient!
